Bacchus Marsh employment precinct Gas capacity will be double by mid-2022

To attract new businesses in Bacchus Marsh region, The Victorian Government has invested $2.7 million towards the gas connection initiative Building Works fund. The main purpose of this investment is to create hundreds of jobs in the employment zone in response to the economics of corona virus.

In fact, at 2,880 hectares, the precinct is more than 1,400 times the size of the MCG (The Melbourne Cricket Ground) and will attract commercial businesses with a focus on agribusiness.

Due for completion by mid-2022, the landmark project will open up gas connections for the new Parwan Employment Precinct that will attract new businesses – and potentially create up to 1,500 workers full-time over six years.

The precinct located between the Bacchus Marsh Aerodrome and the Western Water Treatment Plant, the activation is likely to appeal to both domestic and international companies aiming for a location within close proximity to Melbourne and the ports.

This pipeline will double the gas capacity to the Bacchus Marsh region. The City Gate Gas Connection project has been funded in partnership with the Moorabool Shire Council and L&G Meats.

Bacchus Marsh employment precinct will provide lasting benefits in response to the challenges brought about by corona virus, natural disaster, and bush-fires.
